About Us
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) serves Montgomery County residents providing public health, mental health, and social services that help address the needs of our community’s most vulnerable children, youth, adults, families and older adults. We offer over 155 programs and deliver services at more than 20 locations throughout the County.
Our core services protect the community’s health, protect the health and safety of at-risk children and vulnerable adults and address basic human needs including food, shelter, and clothing.
DHHS provides programs through six service areas: Aging and Disability Services; Behavioral Health and Crisis Services; Children, Youth and Family Services; the Office of Eligibility and Social Services; Public Health Services; and Services to End and Prevent Homelessness. Our Minority Health Initiatives and Program and our Racial Equity and Social Justice work are woven into the fabric of DHHS informing much of what we do. In addition, our operational functions include budget administration, fiscal administration, contract management, facilities management, grant acquisition, human resources, information systems and performance management.
Please review the broad range of services the department offers. The center of the website has been arranged to display six broad service categories. When a user clicks on one of these pages, the DHHS programs that address those needs will be arranged under sub-categories.
