The Fire & Rescue Experience
A dynamic opportunity for high school students to step inside the world of firefighting & emergency services.
Monday, October 13, 2025
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Hosted by Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service, in partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools, this hands-on experience offers guided tours of the fire academy, live equipment, fitness and uniform demos. Students will learn about exciting educational opportunities or a career path in fire and rescue service. Whether you’re curious or committed, this experience is your chance to explore what it takes to be a community hero.
When?
Monday, October 13, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Who?
The event is open to Montgomery County Public School sophomore, junior and senior students.
What?
During MCFRS & MCPS Fire & Rescue Experience, students will experience:
- Firefighter Fitness Test Demonstration
- Hands-On Uniform & Equipment Demonstration
- Fire Rescue Scenario
- Learn about Student, Volunteer and Career Opportunities in MCFRS
- Lunch will be provided
- Building relationships and lifelong friendships
The Fire & Rescue Experience is FREE of charge. MCPS buses will transport students from their school to the Public Safety Training Academy and will return students back to their school prior to dismissal.
How to Register
Space is limited, please register below. Upon receipt of your registration, you will need to fill out the following two required MCPS documents:
- MCPS Form 555-6 – Parent/Guardian Approval for Trips – MCPS Transportation is Provided (PDF)
- MCPS Form 525-13 – Authorization to Administer Prescribed Medication (PDF) (If Applicable)
