Multi-Family Waste Reduction & Recycling Seminar - Empowering Multi-Family Communities to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle More!

The Montgomery County, Maryland Department of Environmental Protection’s Recycling and Resource Management Division - Waste Reduction and Recycling Section is holding an in-person Multi-Family Waste Reduction and Recycling Program seminar on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Bethesda Marriott Hotel located at 5151 Pooks Hill Rd, Bethesda, MD 20814. This seminar is tailored for multi-family property owners, managers, staff, residents, and haulers/collectors. We will be providing information on the County’s multi-family recycling requirements and how apartments and condominiums can increase their efforts to reduce waste and recycle more, aiming for Zero Waste, by recycling hard to recycle items such as plastic bags, plastic film, and batteries.
Cost is $10 per person, payable by check or cash only, and includes continental breakfast and lunch. On-site parking is available.

During this 4-hour seminar, you will learn about:
- Montgomery County’s efforts to reduce waste and recycle more, aiming for Zero Waste
- Strategies to educate your residents and staff about waste reduction and recycling
- Batteries safety and disposal
- Recycling plastic bags, and plastic film
- Household donations to non-profit organizations
- Network with peers and meet the TRRAC team
- Obtain recycling resources and materials
