We are the lead agency in Montgomery County, Maryland, dedicated to improving stream health and water quality by installing projects to help clean our water, and restore natural ecosystems through innovative watershed planning and design.

We do this in several keyways:

  • Assess and reduce pollution in streams
  • Improve stream habitat and water quality
  • Determine suitability and equitability of projects
  • Prioritize green infrastructure
  • Monitor project implementation and success and
  • Foster strong partnerships with communities and engaging the community throughout all phases of a project

Lower Booze Creek Summer Rain Event - 03 July 2013

Lower Booze Creek, a very hydrologically flashy urban system in the Cabin John watershed of Montgomery County, MD, demonstrates just how quickly it can rise due to a "typical" summer storm. In studying the project during and since construction, we've realized hydrology spikes far larger and more frequent than anticipated by urban regression models.
