recycling bin, paper cart, and trash canMonday, July 4, 2016, Independence Day: No County-provided recycling or trash collections on July 4; all pickups that week slide by one day. Transfer Station closed July 4. See holiday details

To help avoid mosquito breeding: Store your recycling bin out of the rain. Though the bin has drain holes, dump out even small amounts of water. Do this weekly. See more mosquito tips.

Businesses in Montgomery County are required to recycle.

The mission of the Division's SORRT (Smart Organizations Reduce and Recycle Tons) Program is to educate, offer information, and ensure that all businesses and employees in Montgomery County are aware of the County's recycling policies and practices.

We offer a wide range of materials and services from brochures, stickers, fliers, and educational videos to providing on-site technical assistance, recommendations and workshops to businesses.
