Derby Ridge Stream Restoration Project

As a part of the County's effort to reduce stormwater pollution that drains into our streams and enhance aquatic habitat, the County is restoring approximately  270 feet of stream at Derby Ridge, along Derby Ridge Lane.  The Stream Restoration  project was identified as a priority project in the Rock Creek watershed study (2014).

Residents can also participate in the County's RainScapes Rewards program to install rain gardens, rain barrels and other attractive stormwater management features on their property to help reduce pollution. The cost of installation can be partially rebated by the County through the program. The application for the Rainscapes Rewards program is available online.

Various public events will be held throughout the project phases for residents to learn about the project and to provide input on the design of the project.
