Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza
The Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza, located in Downtown Silver Spring, is a premier event facility that provides an elegant setting for all types of events. Just minutes from the Nation’s Capital and several local hotels, the Civic Building combines modern touches with natural design and provides space for corporate events, private parties, wedding ceremonies, receptions, and more! Right outside of the front door you can find the beautiful Veterans Plaza, which provides outdoor space for concerts, festivals, and live entertainment.
The Civic Building is a genuinely unique urban venue. Known for its sophisticated Great Hall, and a variety of activity/conference rooms, your event is sure to be a memorable experience at an exceptional value! Because of its unique features, this venue can host personal celebrations and can be booked farther in advance.

- SSCBVP/CUPF is not accepting additional event requests at this time.
- If interested in hosting a Veterans Plaza event in 2024, please reach out to the Operations Manager in October of 2023.

- Additional staff may be required for large/extensive events or events with alcohol service:
- Building Service Workers: $25/hr
- Security Officer: $35/hr
- Event Monitor: $40/hr
- Equipment (includes setup):
- Great Hall Sound/Projection: $100/unit
- Low Stage: $250/use

- Other documentation/permits may be required of users:
- Alcohol License Application (Look for Class C One Day Special License - Silver Spring Civic Building Application)
- Department of Health and Human Services
- Department of Permitting Services
- Department of Transportation
- Special arrangements for holiday use
- Facility Use License Agreement (FULA)

New Facility Users
All new facility users are required to submit the following in order for staff to accept an application as complete:
To make a reservation and obtain a permit, submit the following to CUPF staff (located in the Civic Building):
- Application (deemed complete by staff)
- All fees are due at time of reservation for room use (calculated based on actual time of permit & required staffing) Exception: Great Hall and Veterans Plaza ($250 is due at time of reservation and applied to total cost of permit)
- Facility Use License Agreement (FULA)
- Drivers License (or state issued identification)
Returning Facility Users in good standing
All returning facility users are required to submit the following in order for staff to accept an application as complete:
- Application (deemed complete by staff)
- All fees are due at time of reservation for room use (calculated based on actual time of permit & required staffing) Exception: Great Hall and Veterans Plaza ($250 is due at time of reservation and applied to total cost of permit)

- Community Access Program Application
CUPF has exhausted all of our FY23 CAP funding for events scheduled between July 1, 2022-June 30, 2023. That said, the SSCBVP anticipates the County approving funding again for the FY24 Community Access Program. If funding is approved as anticipated, community events scheduled between July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024 will be eligible to apply for funding.
