The Parking BlueBook™

The Parking Bluebook™ functions much like a land records books for the purpose of tracking changes in physical space over periods of time. Every parking space that is under the management of the Parking Division has to be recorded, maintained and accounted for.

As a part of this effort, the process of digitizing the records began by the Planning Team under the direction of Jeremy Souders, Senior Planner. The conversion required a conceptualization of how to best articulate the information based on the intended user. It is understood that for public purposes, the information required is basic:

• Where can I park?
• How can I avoid a ticket?

On the other hand, this information allows us to deliver customer focused service by knowing:

• Where are broken meters located
• What meters are out of service due to construction
• What meters are reserved for special events
• Are meters be out of service for road work

The Division of Parking Management has been programming the changes needed to bring parking into the 21st century with the 22nd century in mind.
