Why is it called a "Beauty Spot"?
When it was opened, this facility was intended to discourage roadside dumping by providing a convenient drop-off location for bulky waste at no charge. That would “beautify” the surrounding Upcounty area, and led to the name “Beauty Spot”.
May you take materials from the Transfer Station, Recycling Center, or Beauty Spot?
Sorry, under the Code of Maryland Regulations 26.04.07.03(7), you may not scavenge or salvage items from our facilities.
