Multiple Needs The resources below provide help with multiple needs, such as financial help, food assistance, and/or other services.  Please also review the information underneath the icons of our Get Help landing page to find out how to search for help for multiple needs.  Contact each office directly for the most current information on services provided.  If you cannot find what you're looking for from the information below, call us at (240) 777-4940 (Mon to Fri, 9am—5pm) or visit us at one of our locations to ask about programs that can help you.

Services Provided Countywide

  • Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
    • For information on County programs which can help with different needs, please visit the  DHHS website.  Information on how to apply for programs during COVID is available  here ( Español). 
    • For questions about program eligibility, contact the Office of Eligibility and Support Services (OESS) at 240-777-1003 or OESS.MOCO@montgomerycountymd.gov.
  • Montgomery County’s Service Consolidation Hubs
    • Provide food assistance, diapers, and other basic necessities from several locations throughout the County. Some Hubs can also connect residents with other necessary services. 
  • Catholic Charities: 
    • Provides food and clothing assistance, housing, employment programs, health care, legal and financial assistance, and more. Provides services regardless of religious, social, or economic background. Several offices throughout Washington, D.C., Montgomery County, and other counties in MD.
    • Catholic Charities Center (Silver Spring) helps Montgomery County clients complete applications for benefits and financial assistance programs including food stamps, Temporary Cash Assistance, rent/mortgage/utility assistance and health care. 
    • Spanish Catholic Center (Gaithersburg) provides case management services, medical and dental clinics, job training programs, English classes, food pantry, and more.

    • Programs offer help with food, shelter, employment, clothing and household goods, and financial needs.  Visit website for information on how to get help.
  • Salvation Army: 301-515-5354, Ext. 0 (English); 301-277-6103 (Español)
    • Provides emergency financial and food assistance, case management, and other services. Several offices throughout the DMV area.
  • Sheppard Pratt
    • Offers many programs in the areas of health and mental health, housing, employment, developmental disabilities, and more.  Several offices throughout MD. The Neighborhood Safety Net Program provides Montgomery County residents help with navigating and applying for different programs and referrals on where to get help for various needs.  Emergency financial assistance may also be provided in limited cases.

    • Provides hot meals on-site and to-go meals. Eye clinic serves patients without vision insurance. Resource Center provides information and referrals to support services, toiletries and blankets, prescription assistance, crisis intervention, and more.
  • JSSA: 240-800-5772
    • Health and social wellness agency which provides services in mental health, employment, hospice, homecare, managing chronic illness, aging in place, services for disabled individuals, and more. Offices in Rockville and Silver Spring.

Organizations Serving Specific Communities

Although the organizations below target specific communities, many serve other communities as well.  Please contact each organization for specific information on services provided.
  • Identity (English)  (Español): 
    • Focuses on Latino youth and their families who live in high poverty areas of the County (also serves non-Latino youth and families). Provides youth development programs, academic support, workforce development, case management, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and more. Offers services in multiple locations throughout Montgomery County.

    • Membership-based organization serving Latino and other immigrant communities. Provides English and Citizenship Preparation classes, tax preparation, legal services, vocational training, youth leadership development, and advocacy. Offices in MD, VA, PA, and GA.
  • Spanish Speaking Community of Marlyand : 301-587-7217; 8519 Piney Branch Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20901 (also has office in Frederick)
    • Provides services to low-income families & immigrants from diverse backgrounds through programs in community development, immigration support services, healthcare, landlord/tenant intervention, and more.
  • Ethiopian Community Center in MD : 2408397805. 8701 Georgia Ave, Suite 601, Silver Spring, MD 20910
    • The Center provides referrals and information about social services, health care, education, lawyers, immigration, and family counseling. 
  • Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC): 301-820-7200; 9318 Gaither Road, Suite 215, Gaithersburg, MD 20877
    • Serves the Chinese American community and other communities by providing educational, healthcare, recreational, and other services to children, seniors, the low-income, non-native English speakers, and anyone who is in need of assistance. 
  • Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington (KCSC): 
    • Assists Asian Americans and new immigrants by providing  immigration and health services, and programs for seniors, families, and victims of domestic violence.  Also offers classes in English, Citizenship Preparation, and Computers. Office locations throughout VA and MD.

    • Provides English classes, healthcare and senior programs, medical interpretation, and immigration and employment services.

    • Provides food assistance, holiday giving, clothes distribution, refugee services, senior and youth programs and more, to Muslim and other communities.
  • Islamic-American Zakat Foundation: 301-907-0997; zakat@iazf.org
    • Provides financial assistance for food, clothing, shelter, transportation, and medical care for Muslims in need. Also provides social services and referrals.

    • Assists immigrants and other low-income residents in the areas of: education, employment, information and referrals, interpretation, food assistance, immigration, public services, and finding health care.
  • Francophone Africans Alliance: 10770 Columbia Pike, Suite 300-W-4

    • Offers community education to Francophone Africans. Provides free English classes, educational workshops on how to navigate the American school system, and collaborates with other local organizations on free activities focused on health and wellness, entrepreneurship, arts, and environment.
