Prerequisites
In order to enroll in the EMT Initial Training Course, you must do the following.

Be a volunteer member
Be a member of a Montgomery County Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department.

Complete 800MHz Radio (Intro)
Complete the 800MHz Radio (Intro) course offered on the MCFRS Tech Training Website.

View Program Academic Standards
Successful course completion will meet the National Registry Requirement to sit for the NREMT Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). The MIEMSS State required EMT Internship remains unchanged for eligibility to the State Practical Test administered by MIEMSS.
The Jones & Bartlett Flipped Classroom course consists of weekly on-line assignments, weekly Zoom class sessions and weekly in-person class sessions at the Fire & Rescue Training Academy. Class schedules are subject to change at any time.
EMT 193 and EMT 194 both start on Thursday 01/02/2025.
