The Montgomery County alarm law was adopted because of concerns over police officer safety and to eliminate the misuse of police resources. Unfounded alarm calls also reduce the police department’s effectiveness and undermines our ability to respond to more critical calls.

      Your alarm business must first be licensed by the Maryland State Police before applying for your Montgomery County Alarm Business License. You must provide a copy of your State license with the application. Failure to comply will result in the denial of your Montgomery County Alarm Business License Application.

      To obtain your Maryland Security Systems Agency License you must contact the Maryland State Police at 410 799-0191 ext. 300. Once you have successfully completed the background investigation and finger printing requirements, your company will be issued the Maryland Security Systems License number.
