MISSION
To establish and maintain solid and ethical relationships with the media for accurate, timely information release and to communicate consistently with the community by providing timely and relevant information regarding incidents that may have short—or long-term impacts on the community. Our office provides information through traditional media relations tools such as news releases, conferences, public service announcements, media alerts, social media, and video.

WHAT WE DO
The Montgomery County Police Department's Public Information Office is the primary point of contact for all police-related news media inquiries. The Media & Public Information Office manages all media and public relations regarding police-related matters. The Public Information Officer (PIO) serves as the department's official spokesperson on behalf of the Chief of Police.
