To establish and maintain solid and ethical relationships with media for accurate, timely release of information and to communicate consistently with the community by providing timely and relevant information regarding incidents that may have short or long-term impacts on the community. Our office provides information through traditional media relations tools such as news releases, press conferences, public services announcements and media alerts, as well as social media and video.

The Montgomery County Police Department Public Information Office is the primary point of contact for all police-related news media inquiries. The Public Information Office manages all media and public relations regarding police related matters.  On behalf of the Chief of Police, the Public Information Officer (PIO) serves as the official spokesperson for the department.
