How to Apply for a RainScapes Rewards Project
Whether you are new to RainScapes or ready to get started with your application, it is helpful to read through our step-by-step application guide. It will help make the process run smoother and easier.
Application Process
Step 1: Choose a Project and Apply
-
Choose a project. Need help deciding? Download the First Steps Guide.
-
Apply for project approval.
-
Rain barrel projects do not need pre-approval.
-
The online application is a quick process and begins with you entering your name and address. Your property tax ID is automatically filled in. The tax property ID number is how we track the RainScapes rebates that your property has received.
Step 2: Get approval and install your project
-
A RainScapes planner will contact you to schedule an on-site visit
-
Exception: Rain barrels applications do not require a site visit.
-
-
During the site visit, your planner will help you determine whether the project that you chose is best suited for your property.
-
NOTE: Before a rain garden, conservation landscaping, or green roof can be approved, you must submit a scaled planting plan and plant list for staff review.
-
Download the How to Make a Planting Plan guide (PDF, 388KB)

-
When your project is accepted (plan approved) for the RainScapes Rewards Rebate Program, you will be emailed a blank copy of the Property Owner Agreement (POA) for your review. Click the link in the email to electronically sign the POA. After the project has been completed, you will be sent a completly signed copy of the POA.
-
Now you may install your project!
Step 3: Finish and Get Your Rebate
