Franklin Knolls and Clifton Park Green Streets

As a part of the County’s effort to protect our waters, the Franklin Knolls neighborhood was selected for a Green Street project to help reduce stormwater pollution that drains into our streams. Green Streets projects generally involve installing small-scale stormwater practices within the County’s right-of-way to capture water from roadways and sidewalks during storms.

The Franklin Knolls Green Streets project is divided into four phases. Various public events will be held throughout the project phases for residents to learn about the project and to provide input on the design of the project. Go to the project phase tabs for more information on public events and project schedules.

The County is also coordinating with the Department of Transportation’s (MCDOT) roadway maintenance and/or rehabilitation work which began in Phase 1 and 2 Summer 2012. This MCDOT newsletter has information about the continuing roadway improvement project in Clifton Park/ Franklin Knolls. The green streets project timeline is adaptable and will be adjusted as needed in response to design and approval complexity, MCDOT road repair schedules, and feedback from the community.
