Grosvenor Luxmanor Tributary Stream Restoration
This project has restarted as of 12/2/2019 and is currently in design. A portion of the project on M-NCPPC property has been transferred to Montgomery County Parks for completion (see map below).
As a part of the County’s effort to help reduce stormwater pollution that drains into our streams and enhance aquatic habitat, the County is collaborating with the Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), the State Highway Administration (SHA) and local residents on a Stream Restoration project .
Approximately 5,982 linear feet of stream restoration is proposed on the mainstem of the Grosvenor/Luxmanor Tributary and the Rudyard Drive Tributary to the mainstem.
Various public events will be held throughout the project phases for residents to learn about the project and to provide input on the design of the project.
To learn more about how the County restores streams, please visit the County’s webpage on Stream Restoration Techniques .
How Can I Help?
Residents can also participate in the County’s RainScapes Rewards program to install rain gardens, rain barrels, and other attractive stormwater management features on their property to help reduce pollution. The cost of installation can be partially rebated by the County through the program. The application for the RainScapes Rewards program is available online.
