County Implementation Strategy

The Coordinated Implementation Strategy (“the Strategy”) shows how the County will meet the MS4 Permit required watershed restoration goals and water quality standards. Countywide watershed restoration priorities were developed based on the findings for the 8 individual watersheds. The Maryland Department of Environment (MDE) approved the Strategy in 2012.

The Strategy identified the following general priorities:

  • Implement watershed restoration projects

  • Focus on Environmental Site Design projects in urban areas on public and private properties

  • Implement key initiatives in the Public Education and Outreach Workplan

  • Implement only the most cost efficient individual watershed strategies.
