Then and Now

Montgomery County has a proud historical heritage that began more than 300 years ago with the arrival of settlers from England, Ireland and Wales. Settlers from other countries have since followed. The county's character has been shaped by numerous small towns and larger communities that, even today, have preserved their own historical identities. The county is fortunate to have organizations that are actively working to preserve, promote and impart historical information and resources.
