Environmental Policy Statement
It is the Environmental Policy of Montgomery County to operate its Yard Trim Composting Facility, located in Dickerson Maryland, in a manner that promotes health, safety and the environment as a core and integral part of its business. We will do this by adhering to the following principles:
Compliance
We will comply with all mandatory and voluntarily-adopted requirements by maintaining knowledge and understanding of our compliance status.
Protecting the Environment
We will do this not only by preventing pollution but also by mitigating other negative impacts on the environment and by pursuing the sustainable use of resources. We will strive to minimize potentially harmful releases to the air, land, or water through use of cleaner technologies and practices.
Continual Improvement
We will strive for continual improvement of the environmental management system to enhance environmental performance.
Communication
Providing ample information and opportunity, we will report progress to and solicit input from the surrounding community and other stakeholders.
