MCEO NO. 184-06: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Brookville Service Park - Road Phase Public Hearing - CIP 509928. A public hearing was held before the hearing examiner at 10:00 AM on Thursday July 6, 2006, in the Lobby Auditorium of the Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe St. in Rockville, Maryland, to consider a proposal to add a public road on the northeast side of the County's facility located at 8710 Brookville Rd. in Silver Spring. The access road will run westerly approximately 1,131.66 feet and will be 20 feet wide with curb and gutter, street lights and a four-foot wide sidewalk. A 450' retaining wall will be constructed on the north east side of the road. The project will include both improved and new stormwater management facilities. The total estimated cost of the project is $4,000,000. Effective Date: 6/07/06.

MCEO NO. 213-06: DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES - Requirements for the Supportive Housing Rental Assistance Program. A public hearing will be held by the hearing officer at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2006, 100 Maryland Ave., 3rd Floor Hearing Room, Rockville, Maryland 20850 to consider the proposed regulation which establishes the requirements for the Supportive Housing Rental Assistance Program. After the hearing, the hearing officer will report his findings and recommendations for further consideration as prescribed by the County Code. Effective Date: 7/13/06.
MCEO NO. 221-06: FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE - Fire Safety Code - Building Construction. A public hearing will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 1, 2006, at the Department of Permitting Services, Seneca Conference Room, 255 Rockville Pike, 2nd Floor, Rockville, Maryland 20850 to consider amendments to existing Fire Safety Code Regulation 22-98AM, Building Construction. The proposed regulation adopts and amends the 2003 edition of the National Fire Protection Association standards pertaining to building construction. Changes reflect a reconfiguration of the national code requirements for one and two-family home sprinkler systems, radio reception requirements in new buildings, sprinkler requirements in certain assembly occupancies, and more stringent requirements than those contained in the Maryland State Fire Prevention Code. MCEO NO. 223-06: FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE - Fire Safety Code - Fire Protection Systems. A public hearing will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, September 1, 2006, at the Department of Permitting Services, Seneca Conference Room, 255 Rockville Pike, 2nd Floor, Rockville, Maryland 20850 to consider amendments to existing Fire Safety Code Regulation 10-97, Fire Protection Systems. The proposed regulation adopts the 2003 edition of the National fire Protection Association standards pertaining to fixed fire protection systems, amends existing regulations, requires annual testing and permitting of fire protection systems, licensing to install, service, modify or inspect fire protection systems, and adopts requirements for sprinklering public assemblies defined as nightclubs, discotheques, bars, dance halls or similar occupancies exceeding 50 person capacity.
