MCEO NO. 11-12: DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE - Fire Lane Establishment Order to post fire lane signs and paint curbs/pavement (painting optional) as identified below. When signs and paint work have been completed, this order will authorize the enforcement of this fire lane by appropriate police and fire officials. Location: Mid Pike Plaza Corvette, 11806 Rockville Pike. Signs must be posted so that it is not possible to park a vehicle without being in sight of a sign. Signs may be no farther apart than 100 feet. Paint must be traffic yellow with line of sufficient width to be readily identifiable/readable by motor vehicle operators. Effective Date: 12/21/11

MCEO NO. 41-12: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Esperanza Puentes Chapman Avenue Extended, CIP No. 500719. The Option Contract between Esperanza Puentes and Montgomery County, Maryland for the purchase of the property rights required for the above referenced project is hereby accepted. The County Attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the above described property rights, including any improvements located within the areas to be acquired. Effective Date: 2/29/12
MCEO NO. 52-12: OFFICE OF THE COUNTY ATTORNEY - Non-Local Park Acquisition Great Seneca Creek Stream Valley Park. The County Executive has determined that acquisition of the described property as parkland is necessary, in the public interest and determination was made after a public hearing held on March 1, 2012, and was approved for acquisition in the FY12 Capital Budget. The County Attorney is hereby directed to acquire by purchase or condemnation, the following described property: OWNER/PARK Warren W. MCEO NO. 58-12: DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE - Public Hearing - Fire Safety Code - Fire Protection Maintenance Inspections, Permits, Licenses, Exceptions and Fees. The Fire Chief (or his designee) shall conduct a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2012, in the Department of Permitting Services Strathmore Conference Room, 255 Rockville Pike, 2nd Floor, Rockville, Maryland 20850 to consider amendments to the existing Fire Safety Code Regulation 5-06AM, Fee Schedule for Inspections, Permits, Licenses, Certificates and Exceptions. The proposed regulation 12-12, reflects the assignment of all new construction permitted work to the Department of Permitting Services; revises inspection and documentation requirements to focus on maintenance of fire protection systems and features; identifies when payment is due; defines total inspection time; amends the fee-exempt status of other government units and facilities; reduces and simplifies the penalty accrual amount for late or non-payment; identifies the responsibility for fire protection systems and features maintenance and testing; clarifies when certain permits will be issued; amends the requirements for corporate and employee fire protection contractor licensing; reduces the fees and extends the term for fire protection contractor licensing; and, retitles the surcharge on all fees collected and specifies how they are to be expended. MCEO NO. 61-12: DEPARTMENT OF PERMITTING SERVICES - Public Hearing - Adoption of the 2012 IBC, IRC, IECC, IMC, and IFGC. The Director of the Department of Permitting Services (or her designee) shall conduct a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2012, in the Seneca Conference Room, 255 Rockville Pike, 2nd Floor, Rockville, Maryland 20850 to consider proposed regulations. MCEO NO. 62-12: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Selfridge Road Proposed Sidewalk (CIP #506747). The County Executive hereby finds that the public interest requires construction of a sidewalk to provide safe pedestrian travel along the west side of Selfridge Road from Gridley Road to Randolph Road, located in Wheaton, Maryland within Election District 13. The Director of the Department of Transportation is hereby authorized to proceed with the construction of a concrete sidewalk under Capital Improvement Project No. 506747 (Annual Sidewalk Program). The sidewalk will be five feet wide and will conform to ADA requirements. The total length of the sidewalk is 585 linear feet. Selfridge Road is classified as a secondary residential roadway and has a 60 foot wide public right-of-way The existing roadway is approximately 36 feet wide, with approximately 12 feet of available public right-of-way on the west side of Selfridge Road. There will be a variable width greenspace located between the new sidewalk and new curb and gutter. Every effort will be made throughout the construction phase to cause minimal disturbance within the public right-of-way and to the adjacent properties A Public Hearing was conducted on the project at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, in the First Floor Auditorium of the Council Office Building (COB) located at 100 Maryland Avenue, in Rockville, Maryland. The Hearing Examiner recommended approval of the project. The County Executive hereby proposes that the total cost of the project, to be determined by final accounting after construction has been completed, shall be distributed in the approximate amounts as follows: $54,405.00 for construction costs and G.O. bonds, $ N/A for costs to be assessed for special benefit against applicable properties, $5,440.00 administrative and construction inspection costs and G.O. bonds, $59,845.00 total estimated cost of the project, including engineering, site improvements and construction. Unless otherwise approved by the County, expenditures authorized by this Order plus expenditures accrued to date for this project shall not exceed $59,845.00 and shall be made payable from funds appropriated for CIP No. 506747. MCEO NO. 63-12: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Cloverleaf Townhouse Condominium Century Boulevard, CIP No. 501115. The Option Contract between
Cloverleaf Townhouse Condominium and Montgomery County, Maryland for a temporary construction easement for the above-referenced project is hereby accepted. The County Attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easement. Effective Date: 3/19/12
MCEO NO. 65-12: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Public Hearing - Pearl Street Ramp (CIP Project No. 507596). The County Executive (or his designee) shall conduct a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in the COB Auditorium located at 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland 20850. The purpose of this hearing is to consider a proposal to provide safe temporary pedestrian access to the Georgetown Branch Interim Trail from the southern terminus of Pearl Street, located in Bethesda, Maryland, within Election District 7, by constructing a 6-foot wide ramp and stair structure from the southern terminus of Pearl Street to the Georgetown Branch Interim Trail. This project will provide temporary access to the trail and serve as an interim connection until the Purple Line Light Rail is constructed. An easement across one private property will be required to complete construction of the project. Project related data and files are available for examination in the offices of the Department of Transportation, 100 Edison Park Drive, 4th Floor, Gaithersburg, Maryland. The phone number is 240-773-3410. Estimated cost of the proposed improvement and funding allocations thereof are as follows: $180,000.00 total estimated cost of the project, including engineering, site improvements, property acquisition and construction. Funding for this project will include monies paid by an adjacent developer and escrowed for use with this project. Unless otherwise approved by the County, expenditures authorized by this Order plus expenditures accrued to date for this project, shall not exceed $180,000.00 and shall be made payable from funds appropriated for CIP Project No. 507596. The sole purpose of this hearing is to obtain public comments to assist the County Executive in determining whether or not to authorize construction of the project. Effective Date: 3/27/12
