JUNK DEALERS/JUNK YARDS - REPEAL:  Bill 6-05 repeals the County law regarding the licensing of junk deals and junkyards.  Effective Date:  October 9, 2005.

CABLE COMMUNICATIONS - CABLE COMPLIANCE COMMISSION, AMENDMENTS:  Bill 7-05 extends the sunset date for the Cable Compliance Commission and generally amends the law governing cable communications.  Effective Date:  October 21, 2005.

BUILDINGS - PERMITS-POSTING NOTICE OF ISSUANCE:  Bill 8-05 requires the recipient of a building permit for certain structures in residential and agricultural zones to post a sign describing the proposed construction and stating the deadline for filing an administrative appeal, and generally amends the law concerning building permits.  Effective Date:  October 11, 2005.

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING - CORRECTION DEPARTMENT - SERGEANTS:  Expedited Bill 11-05 includes uniformed Sergeants in the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation in the Office, Professional, and Technical bargaining unit, and generally amends the law regarding County employees and collective bargaining.  Effective Date:  July 10, 2005.

PERSONNEL - SALARY SCHEDULES:  Expedited Bill 12-05 modifies the uniform salary plan for County employees to include salary schedules for sworn deputy sheriff managers and uniformed correctional managers; and generally amends the law governing salary schedules for County employees.  Effective Date:  July 10, 2005.

SPECIAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT - 6TH DISTRICT POLICE STATION:  Bill 13-05 authorizes the planning, design, renovation and construction of the 6th District Police station in the Gaithersburg Vicinity planning area.  Effective Date:  October 9, 2005.

SPECIAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT - JUDICIAL CENTER ANNEX:  Bill 14-05 authorizes the planning, design, renovation, and construction of the Judicial Center Annex, in the Rockville planning area.  Effective Date:  October 9, 2005.

SPECIAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT - WHITE OAK COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER:  Bill 15-05 authorizes the planning, design, renovation, and construction of the White Oak Community Center, in the Colesville-White Oak planning area.  Effective Date:  October 9, 2005.

LANDLORD-TENNANT RELATIONS - ATTORNEY'S FEES:  Expedited Bill 5-05 continues a temporary provision of law governing the payment of attorney's fees in certain landlord-tenant matters; and generally amends the law regarding the payment of attorney's fees in landlord-tenant matters.  Effective Date: August 3, 2005.

BUILDINGS - LOCATION IN COUNTY:  Bill 9-05 requires each building or structure for which a building permit is issued to be located entirely in the County; and generally amends the law governing the issuance of building permits.  Effective Date:  November 3, 2005.

ELECTRICITY - LICENSES - EXCEPTION:  Expedited Bill 16-05 clarifies a certain exception to the licensing requirement for electrical work, and generally amends the law governing licenses and permits for electrical work.  Effective Date:  July 29, 2005.

LICENSES - BENEFIT PERFORMANCES:  Expedited Bill 17-05 allows certain organizations to contract for operation of benefit performances; and generally amends the law governing benefit performances.  Effective date:  August 4, 2005.

BOND AUTHORIZATION:  Expedited Bill 19-05 authorizes the County to issue certain bonds.  Effective Date:  August 4, 2005.

CONDOMINIUMS, CONVERSION OF RENTAL HOUSING - EXTENDED TENANCIES:  Expedited Bill 21-05 expands the categories of households that are eligible for certain extended tenancies when certain rental housing is converted to condominiums; clarifies the income eligibility requirements for certain extended leases; and generally amends the law governing conversion of rental housing to condominiums.  Effective Date:  August 4, 2005.
