MCER NO. 73-91:  PROPOSED REPEAL OF DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE REGULATION
Basic Life Support Quality Assurance Program For EMT-A's

SUMMARY:  Executive Regulation 73-91 is proposed for repeal because it is obsolete.  The regulation applied to Emergency Medical Technician-A, under a level of certification administered by the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS).  This requirement was changed to EMT-B in 1999, and all County EMS providers now comply with MIEMSS updated standard, as well as meeting the requirement to have a quality assurance program in place for EMT-B service providers.  The existing regulation is obsolete and is proposed for repeal for this reason.

MCER NO. 20-93:  PROPOSED REPEAL OF DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE REGULATION
Fire and Rescue Corporation Personnel Regulations

SUMMARY:  Executive Regulation 20-93 amended the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Corporation Personnel Regulations (MCFRCPR), which was effective for fire and rescue corporation employees on March 2, 1988, with amendments.  The MCFRCPR is proposed for repeal because the County hired the Corporation mechanics in 2009, and they are now managed under the County's Personnel Regulations.  In July 2011, the County abolished the positions of the Corporation's administrative employees.  There are no longer any personnel to be managed under the MCFRCPR.
