MCER NO. 11-13:
PROPOSED
DEPARTMENT OF
GENERAL SERVICES
REGULATION
Disposition of Real Property
SUMMARY: The proposed regulation establishes the procedure through which the County is permitted to dispose of property. On May 1, 2012, the County Council passed Bill 11B-45-01 which authorizes Council to have review, comment, and approval under their appropriation authority of property disposition decisions. The proposed regulation established for the purpose of implementing Bill 11B 45-01 makes some specific changes to the procedure. The overall substantive changes relate to the fact that the new disposition law has eliminated many of the "exceptions" to the disposition process such that most properties sold outright or leased or licensed for more than 2 years will now undergo the disposition process. The proposed regulation would supersede Executive Regulation 31-97.
