Flash: Montgomery County's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) network

Flash is a limited-stop, branded bus service currently planned for 5 corridors within Montgomery County. The project will transform mobility options by connecting riders to activity and employment centers. The service will also improve passenger transit mobility and bicycle and pedestrian improvements along the corridors, making it easier and safer to get to Flash stations. Flash will run in its own lanes where possible to bypass the existing traffic congestion. It will also use queue jumps and transit signal priority to avoid traffic at select intersections to provide faster and more reliable service. The stations are designed to make boarding vehicles easier, improving travel time and increasing transit equity. The unique modern stations will provide weather protection, pre-payment stations, and real-time transit information.
