TeenWorks Volunteer Programs


Volunteering is one of the best ways for young people to push themselves out of their comfort zone and experience new things while providing valuable contributions to others and their community.
TeenWorks volunteers are offered an array of opportunities to gain experience and build upon their knowledge, skills and abilities.
In addition, volunteers earn student service learning (SSL) hours for their service.
- TeenWorks volunteers must:
- Be a Montgomery County resident and at least 14 years old
- Be in the 9th to 12th grade
- Attend a TeenWorks volunteer orientation, complete volunteer registration package and be accepted
- Have consent of a parent/guardian to participate in this volunteer program
- Complete the interest form

Research finds that youth who volunteer regularly practice skills, such as collaboration and problem solving, that are essential to succeeding in academics, the workplace and their personal lives. Volunteers through TeenWorks gain robust real-world experiences that can be added to their resumes, build relationships and strengthens their support network. In addition, volunteers earn SSL hours for their service and access to leadership development workshops such as resume writing and effective communication. It is a commitment – but the rewards are amazing!
If you are interested in joining the TeenWorks volunteer program, please fill out this form. Your parent or guardian will be copied on the return email. Volunteers must attend an orientation and complete all registration requirements to be accepted into the volunteer program and begin serving.
Volunteer Interest FormTeenWorks volunteers can serve through graduation from high school once accepted into the program. Many volunteers find a passion for the field of Recreation through their experience and decide to apply for a TeenWorks employment opportunity or one of the many seasonal positions available at Montgomery County Recreation.
