Meet Dolores:

Dolores has been working for Montgomery County since August 2006, and with the Department of Recreation since May 2014. She has a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a master's degree in Social Gerontology from the University of Barcelona. Prior to joining the Department of Recreation, she worked at the Charles W. Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center (formerly Charles W. Gilchrist Center for Cultural Diversity) helping newcomers to the US become established into the County and connecting them with much needed services and programs, such as English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Citizenship classes, Pro Bono Legal Services, Tax Preparation for low income families, and information and referral to many other programs. Prior to joining the County she worked for the Latin American Youth Center in Washington, DC.

Dolores immigrated to the US in 2003 from her native Spain. She is a Montgomery County resident and lives with her husband and two children in Olney.

Meet Gayathri:

Gayathri has been with the Department of Recreation since 2014. She has a bachelor’s in Economics and Agriculture and Resource Economics from the University of Maryland. Gayathri brings over 15 years of work experience in marketing, customer relations and program management in diverse industries. She previously served as the Community Engagement Specialist at the Charles W. Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center.

Gayathri enjoys serving her community and is currently involved with the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County, providing alternate dispute resolution services to the community. She has also volunteered at the Montgomery County Historical Society Beall Dawson House, Montgomery County Public Libraries, and the Committee for Ethnic Affairs in Montgomery County. Gayathri helped organize the World of Montgomery Festivals in 2011 and 2012 and is a founding member of Frangipani Inc., a nonprofit that engages in education and facilitation to accomplish community goals in developing nations.
