2026 Convening: Engaging Our Young People

As part of my Mental Health Initiative, I held a second Mental Health Convening to center and elevate the voices of youth and young people in the mental health space. During the fall, my office led 10 listening sessions in collaboration with county and community partners to engage young people in mental health conversations. Read the summary report here.

The Convening moved this work forward by bringing together mental health providers, community partners, and young people. We were fortunate to hear and learn from several young leaders on the tools and support systems they need to navigate mental health with themselves and their loved ones. Thank you to all who joined us, and a special shoutout to our speakers from 480 Club, DHHS BTheOne, Community Bridges, Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County, and Vibe Checkup!
