Additional details on our custom barrel selections that will be available for purchase beginning at 10 am.
Thy Bronze Butterfly: This unique Elijah Craig selection is from Rickhouse T, Floor 3, with a barrel serial number of 6072559. Light and delicate with notes of sweet honey and nuttiness, this bourbon is far from overpowering. Thus, we’ve aptly named our pick Thy Bronze Butterfly. Bronze being the gift traditionally given on an eighth anniversary, with a butterfly representing the subtleness of the selection.
Minister of Intensity: This unique Elijah Craig selection is from Rickhouse Q, Floor 5, with a barrel serial number of 5360099. Dark and rich with notes of caramel and oak, this is a full-bodied and complex bourbon. It takes its name from the power of its flavor and the fact that both Elijah Craig and Martin Luther King, Jr. were ministers (note: Whiskey Rocks is held on the Friday before MLK Jr.'s, birthday).
Maker’s Mark Private Select: Beginning as fully matured Maker's Mark at cask strength, Private Select is created by adding 10 custom wood finishing staves to each barrel. It's then aged in their limestone cellar to extract a unique, flavorful taste profile.
With 1,001 possible stave combinations, each expression of Private Select has a customized finish and taste profile that is unique. Our custom combination is:
Baked American Pure (P2), 1 stave
Seared French Cuvée (Cu), 2 staves
Maker's Mark 46 (46), 1 stave
Roasted French Mocha (Mo), 4 staves
Toasted French Spice (Sp), 2 staves
Buffalo Trace: Barrel selected exclusively for Montgomery County by Master Distiller, Harlen Wheatley.
No residency requirement for Whiskey Rocks, must be 21+ to participate. For email and text updates, join our retail list and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
