Ready-To-Drink (RTD)

Holders of a license for off-premises consumption or on-and-off premises consumption may enter an agreement with Alcohol Beverage Services to sell ready-to-drink distilled spirit beverages – not more than 8% by volume. License classes ABW, ABWS, BBWHR, BDBWL, and DBW are eligible to apply. The 2026 contract begins on May 1, 2026, and runs through April 30, 2027.

  

Allowable ready-to-drink (RTD) distilled spirit beverages are defined as liquor-based products mixed with other nonalcoholic liquids containing not more than 8% alcohol by volume in a single-serve container.  

  

The cost for the RTD privilege is $200 per licensing year or any portion of the year. The 2026 contract begins on May 1, 2026 and runs through April 30, 2027. After that, the privilege expires on April 30 each year and will be renewed automatically unless the licensed establishment is found guilty of certain violations of the Rules and Regulations of the Board of License Commissioners, including selling alcohol to a person under 21 or purchasing alcohol from an unauthorized source.​
