Montgomery County Solicitor's Permit

You are welcome to solicit sales from Montgomery County license-holders as long as you follow the rules set forth in the Annotated Code of the Public General Laws of Maryland, the Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services Division of Licensure, Regulation and Education (LRE) and other guidelines of the Alcohol Beverage Services.

You must have a Montgomery County Solicitor’s Permit before actively engaging in any alcoholic sales activity. In most cases, a Maryland Solicitor’s Permit is also required.

What’s new?
We are releasing a new online Solicitor Permit application.
This new application allows you to get a new or renew* your permit and pay for your permit online.
You will be able to pay online using a credit card or check using your bank routing number and bank account number.

How it works?
All existing and new permit holders must register on the new Solicitor Permit application.
If you have an account with iStore, use the same username and password to log on to the Solicitor Permit application.
If you do not have an account with iStore, please create a new account (as Individual, not Company) to access the Solicitor Permit application.

Are you an existing permit holder?
You may renew your permit starting July 2nd for the new fiscal year, you will have until July 31st to renew your permit.

What happens if permit is not renewed?
Starting August 1st, we will send final reminders to permit holders with iStore access to renew their permit.
Starting August 8th, we will block iStore access to permit holders who did not renew their permit until payment is received.

How long is the permit valid for?
Montgomery County Solicitor Permit is valid for the entire fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th).
