Essential Delivery Services for Call-n-Ride participants
Free taxi rides to COVID-19 test and vaccination clinics, and at-home test kit and mask pickup locations

Other programs

Escorted transportation

Escorted transportation is available for adults who qualify based on income and disability. Because of disability, customers must require the need for an escort throughout their trip.

Medical Assistance (Medicaid) Transportation Program

The Medical Assistance Transportation grant program provides transportation services for Medical Assistance recipients who

live in Montgomery County, and
need transportation to access medically necessary services.

This program provides “last resort” transportation for ambulatory, wheelchair and stretcher-bound recipients who have no other means of transportation available to get to and from medical appointments, or whose medical or physical needs prevent them from using such available transportation.

Senior Connection (volunteer transportation)

Senior Connection offers rides and help getting groceries for County residents over age 60.

Get help finding transportation

The Connect-A-Ride Transportation Resource Center (CAR) is a free information and referral service. It helps adults over 50 and adults with disabilities find transportation for medical services, errands, social activities and more.

CAR links people with public, private, and volunteer transportation services, including escorted transportation. It offers free workshops on how to use public transportation.

The program also helps callers apply for transportation programs like Call-n-Ride and Metro Access.

CAR is funded by Montgomery County Government. It is operated by the Jewish Council for the Aging
