Annual Unsung Sports Hero Award

The Montgomery County Sports Advisory Committee is committed to encouraging greater sports participation within the community. We are excited to announce the second annual "Unsung Sports Hero Award," designed to honor individuals and organizations that have made a meaningful impact in expanding athletic opportunities for Montgomery County residents.

The three recipients of last year's Unsung Sports Hero Award were honored during the Montgomery County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Celebration on Sunday, May 4, 2025. This year's recipients will be honored at the Hall of Fame's Ceremony and Celebration on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Nominations

Nominees can be individuals or groups involved in coaching, officiating, team management, field maintenance, player transportation, training, equipment donations or any other efforts that promote equitable sports participation in the community.

This includes initiatives aimed at increasing access or improving sports programming for under-resourced, underserved or underrepresented communities.

To nominate a deserving individual or organization, submit your nomination here. Be sure to include a brief description (100 words or less) explaining why the nominee should be considered for this award.
