Competitive Programs

You’re no beginner, and you’re ready to take on some fierce competition in one of Montgomery County Recreation’s competitive swim programs. Between the Rockville Montgomery Swim Club and the Montgomery County Swim League, we offer a large, diverse selection of competitive teams.

Montgomery County Swim League Youth Teams

swimmerThis summer swim team program, sponsored by Montgomery County Recreation, is part of the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL). The competitive program is for swimmers 5 - 18 years old. Weekday practices are held in the afternoons (while MCPS is still in session) and in the mornings during the summer (once the MCPS school year has ended) and are dependent on the participant's age.  Swim meets are held on Saturday mornings or Wednesday evenings during the summer and participation is dependent on the participant's skill level.
The MCR teams are the Bethesda Barracudas, Germantown Torpedoes, Glenmont Gators, Long Branch Water Wizards, Poolesville Piranhas and the Upper County Dolphins.
You can search for our teams through ActiveMontgomery by searching MCSL.

Materials and other team fees are not included in the registration fee. Parents and swimmers should attend the pre-season parent meeting held at the pool on the Tuesday after Memorial Day, 7 p.m., RAIN or SHINE. Practices begin on the Wednesday after Memorial Day and run weekdays through mid to late July. More details for practice times and exact dates will be available at the pre-season parent meeting.

Final day to register is June 15. Final day to withdraw and request a refund is June 30.
