Montgomery County Recreation offers a variety of year-round volleyball leagues, camps and clinics for all youth ages 8-17.

Leagues

Interested in Youth Volleyball Leagues?

Montgomery County Recreation offers a variety of youth volleyball leagues for ages 10-17, catering to both girls and boys. Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect:

Duration: Leagues typically run for 7-8 weeks. Leagues run year-round and locations may vary.
Evaluation Day: This is not a tryout but helps in creating balanced teams. You can request to be on the same team as another individual during this day.
Team Composition: Each team consists of about 10 players.
Weekly Schedule: Teams have a two-hour slot each weekend. The first hour is for practice with the coach, and the second hour is for a three-game match against another team.
Playoff Day: The season concludes with a playoff day.
Equipment: Shirts and volleyballs are provided. Players need to wear closed-toe shoes, and knee pads are recommended but not required.

Clinics

Interested in Youth Volleyball Clinics?

Montgomery County Recreation offers volleyball clinics for ages 8-17, catering to both beginner and intermediate players. Here’s a quick overview:

Duration: Clinics run for 6 weeks, with one-hour sessions each week.
Skill Levels: Clinics are available for beginners to intermediate players. Advanced Level 2 clinics are also offered for ages 14-17.
Focus Areas: Participants will learn and improve on passing, setting and serving.
Evaluation: Players in Level 2 clinics may be reassigned if they do not meet the expected skill level.

These clinics are a great way for young players to either get introduced to volleyball or enhance their existing skills.

Camps

Interested in Youth Volleyball Camps?

Volleyball camps for ages 8-17 are a fantastic way to dive into the sport and have a blast while school is out! Here’s a quick rundown:

Timing: Camps are held during the summer and sometimes during winter or spring breaks.
Duration: They can be full-day (8 hours) or half-day sessions.
Activities: Camps include a mix of drills, scrimmages and fun camp games, all centered around volleyball.

It’s a great opportunity for young volleyball enthusiasts to spend their days immersed in the sport they enjoy or for those who are interested in trying out for the first time.
