Where to donate goods to Montgomery County organizations

To donate furniture, household items, clothing, toiletries, and more, visit the Montgomery County Volunteer Center for a list of nonprofit organizations that accept items to serve Montgomery County residents all year round.

Before making a donation, you may want to research the organizations listed to determine how they use donated items. Below are two links to Charity Navigators websites where you can find additional information. There are other sites you may wish to use to determine the best place to make your donation. It is important to note these websites are good for finding and understanding information about organizations, however the best way to donate will be to go through the organization directly. These websites all offer a way to donate through them to the organization, but will also try to obtain donations for their own organization in the process.

Nonprofit organizations interested in assisting with financial donations

Nonprofit organizations that wish to be added to the list of organizations authorized to manage a financial donations fund related to a specific disaster must be located within Montgomery County, provide proof of 501(c)3 status, and provide resources primarily for County residents. They can be added to the list by filling out the Montgomery County Financial Donations Form. Once received and reviewed, County staff will contact the organization for additional information or to let them know their organization's status.
