The presented information includes; project description, design and/or construction status, project schedule, project presentation information and contact information. This information is presented and updated regularly to keep stakeholders informed of the building’s progress from the design phase through bidding and construction.

The Office of Energy and Sustainability projects include installation of solar panels and on-site clean power generation systems (microgrids) on County facilities to reduce the impact of County government operations on the environment and improve the County’s resiliency to storms and other disasters. - Work to repair the 11430 Falls Road parking lot and replacement of the ADA building access started on September 2020 and is scheduled to complete in November 2020.

Appellate Court Judge Chamber
- 50 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850
- A judge's chamber for a new Court of Special Appeals judge will be constructed at the Montgomery County Circuit Court. In addition, a server room will be reconfigured for use for Circuit Court staff that are displaced by construction of the new chamber. The Maryland Court system consists of three levels of courts that include the appellate, circuit court, and district courts. Montgomery County is in the 7th appellate circuit and has one Court of Appeals judge and now three Court of Special Appeals judges that reside at the courthouse. This will be the first time that a fourth appellate judge will be housed in Montgomery Count

Avery Road Treatment Center

- This project provides for the planning, design and construction of a replacement facility for the existing Avery Road Treatment Center (ARTC).

Childcare Renovations

- These facilities allow childcare providers in various parts of the County to provide affordable, quality, and safe childcare services to residents with young children. Each facility provides space for program function including administrative staff, classrooms, associated support functions, and playgrounds for children ages 0-12. This program provides for renovation or replacement of CCIPS childcare facilities to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and safety concerns.

Council Office Building Renovations

- This project provides for the renovation of the first floor auditorium and approximately 45,000 gross square feet of office space on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of the COB. The space currently houses and will continue to house the County Council, its staff and other organizations of the Legislative Branch of Montgomery County Government.

Council Office Building – New Council Member Suites

- During the November 2020 General Election, the citizens of Montgomery County approved Question C, which proposed increasing the number of County Council Members from nine (9) to eleven (11). This expansion of the Council necessitates the construction of office space for the new Members and their staff.

Council Office Building Garage Repair

- The Council Office Building (COB) garage was built in 1963, and no major renovation was done to the garage in its 55 years history. This project mainly addresses concrete, structural steel and masonry deteriorations of the parking spaces and rehabilitates all five stair towers.

- This project, located at 1451 Seven Locks Road, Rockville, provides for the design of an approximately 116,000 gross square foot (GSF) Criminal Justice Complex (CJC) with parking.

Diversion Center

- • This project provides for design and construction of the Diversion Center (DC). This will be a facility that will provide a continuum of care for those in crisis in an appropriate community-based setting. The Diversion Center will complement the “Crisis Now” model in Montgomery County by offering services to the population of Montgomery County who are in crisis and need Behavioral Health Services such as mental health, substance use disorder and other types of crises.

Grey Courthouse Renovation

- This project came about as a part of a comprehensive analysis of maximizing the use of County versus leased space.

Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center
- 5900 Executive Blvd. Rockville, MD 20852
- The Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center opened in 1989. It consists of a 50 meter competitive swimming and diving pool, a 200 foot water flume, a separate leisure pool with two hydrotherapy areas, and a diving tower. Since its opening, the center has had problems related to the movement and condensation of moist indoor air through the building's exterior masonry walls, resulting in roof leakage throughout the building.

- This project provides for an additional 13,443 square feet for increased office and administrative space, dormitory space, living and dining areas, two new apparatus bays and associated storage areas.

Kensington Volunteer Fire Station 5, Resurfacing
- 10620 Connecticut Avenue, Kensington MD 20895
- The scope of work will be to repair and resurface the parking lot and to provide ADA accessible routes of access to the public meeting room and public entrance along with required ADA parking.

Lincoln High School Renovation
- 595 N Stonestreet Ave, Rockville, MD 20850
- The former Lincoln High School is a landmark in Montgomery County's black education history. Opened in 1935, it is the oldest remaining high school building and the only junior high school constructed for black students in Montgomery County. The renovation includes roof replacement and building envelope repair, in order to protect further deterioration of the building.

Nebel Street Shelter

- This County facilities supporting homeless sheltering and associated services are insufficient for the current population and future projection. And due to COVID-19, the maximum occupancy at each County homeless shelter has decreased to allow for social distancing and spacing of beds. The current facility that provides these services for men, located at Taft Court in Rockville, will no longer be available starting spring of 2021. Space in recreation centers that has been used to house men and women during the pandemic must be replaced so the recreation centers can re-open once the pandemic eases to the point programs can resume.

Red Brick Courthouse Structural Repairs

- Phase I of this project provided for the rehabilitation of the flooring system in the Red Brick Courthouse at 29 Courthouse Square in Rockville. The structural integrity of the flooring system was weakened by modifications made over the years to accommodate various electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Phase II will provide for a limited historic rehabilitation of the Courthouse and preserve the building exterior. Work will include the replacement of Life Safety systems, modifications to make the facility compliant with the requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), repair for moisture infiltration issues, and repair and replacement of the building exterior, masonry, copper fittings, and roofing. All work will be performed in compliance with requirements and oversight of the Maryland Historical Society and per existing County regulation and easements.

- This combined facility would provide the community with a library and community recreation center that would be equivalent to comparable libraries and recreation centers with similar service needs throughout the rest of the county.

- This project provides for a new five bay fire and rescue station in the Rockville/White Flint area and the purchase of associated apparatus. The new facility will be located on an acquired site located at the south-east quadrant of Route 355 and Randolph Road.

- The Gene Lynch Park will be constructed in downtown Silver Spring across from the Silver Spring Transit Center. It will provide a public space for citizens to enjoy urban open space in a Metro environment.

Holiday Park Net Zero Initiative

- This project provides for the design and construction of an improved building façade which includes window replacement and a new building exterior for Holiday Park Senior Center. The purpose of this project is to improve life expectancy of the facility and to support the County’s 2035 goal of zero Green House Gas (GHC) emissions for the operation of the County facility.

Martin Luther King Swim Center Renovation

- The Martin Luther King, Jr. Swim Center is a 19,000 SF facility consisting of a competition indoor pool, indoor teach pool, hot tubs as well as an outdoor pool. The indoor two-floor facility has a meeting room, party room, locker rooms, restrooms, exercise rooms, gallery overlooking the competition pool, offices, etc. There is also a separate building with locker rooms and restrooms servicing the outdoor pool. This facility is being renovated following recommendations of the facility assessment and condition report that was performed in 2018.

6th District Police Station
- 222 Paramount Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20879
- This project provides for planning, design, and construction of a new 28,294 gross square feet 6th District Police Station and a new parking garage of 59,526 gross square feet in two levels to serve Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village and vicinity. The Station will be in a new development located on extended Watkins Mill Road between I-270 and MD-355. The district station is a facility consisting of two floors and parking for the public and staff.

- This project provides for a new Fire/Rescue Station in the Clarksburg area and the purchase of associated fire apparatus. The new facility will be located on a yet-to-be-acquired site in the vicinity of MD 355 (Frederick Road) and Clarksburg Road.

- This project provides for a new library in the Clarksburg area. The new facility will be located at Clarksburg Square Road, Clarksburg, MD 20871. A new library is necessary in this area due to the present and projected population density for the Clarksburg area. The Clarksburg Town Center is envisioned to include a mix of housing, commercial, retail, recreation, and civic uses with the Clarksburg Historic District as the focal point.

Damascus Senior Center Refurbishment

- The scope of work consists of addressing the findings of the Damascus Senior Center Facility Assessment which includes ADA remediations, building systems remediation, and improving the senior center by providing a new customer service front counter, reconfiguring lobby area to include a gathering area and computer stations, expanding the fitness room, renovating the restrooms, replacing the storefront entrances, new carpeting and paint, all new furniture and some shelving, adding a lactation room, providing an outdoor fitness area, improving the kitchen area, making changes to the two-wing-building HVAC system so that the Senior Center wing is served independently of the Library wing, and various other improvements.

- Project includes resurfacing of existing parking lot, modifications to existing ADA parking spaces and provide new ADA access path to the existing buildings. The work also includes improvements to existing drainage issues at the main entrance to the Police Station.
