Vision Zero Youth Ambassador Program

Vision Zero Youth Ambassadors

The goal of the Vision Zero Youth Ambassador (VZYA) program is to equip young adults to be the next generation of traffic safety leaders in their community. The program will educate Montgomery County high school students about traffic safety and the importance of roadway design, law enforcement, and education to achieve the goal of Vision Zero. Montgomery County High School students selected to be youth ambassadors are required to commit to the program that teaches them different aspects of Vision Zero and participate in hands-on projects that bring awareness to safety needs in communities across Montgomery County.

A smaller-scale event was created by one of the project teams from the 2023 Vision Zero Youth Ambassadors (VZYA) and held at Whetstone Elementary School.

After the success of the event in 2023, the 2024 VZYA program shifted its focus to creating a larger single event focused on promoting safety information with families in a fun, festival environment.  You may see them volunteering at the event in various roles.
