To vote by mail, you must request a Mail-In ballot.
Ballots will NOT be automatically mailed to voters for the May 14, 2024 Presidential Primary election.
Deadlines to Request a Mail-In Ballot for the 2024 Presidential Primary or General Election
- To request a mailed or faxed mail-in ballot - Tuesday, May 7, 2024
- To request a mail-in ballot delivered via internet - Friday, May 10, 2024
- To request a mail-in ballot in person - Tuesday, May 14, 2024
Request a Mail-In Ballot
If you have Maryland Driver’s License, ID, or Learner’s Permit, the following is recommended
- Visit the State of Maryland Board of Elections

- You must provide your complete information so we can verify your voter registration before issuing you a ballot
- In Step 9, of the “Mail-in Ballot Request” on-line application, select “I would like to receive a mail-in ballot.”

- The other delivery types are only recommended for overseas voters and voters with disabilities
If you do NOT have a Maryland Driver’s License, ID, or Learner’s Permit, the following is recommended
- Download the following forms from the State of Maryland Board of Elections website OR visit the Montgomery County Board of Elections to request a Mail-In Ballot in person
- Complete, print, sign and return the
Mail-In Ballot Request Form to the
Montgomery County Board of Elections
- You can return the
Mail-In Ballot Request Formin person, by mail, or you can deposit it in any of the
Election drop boxes located throughout the County
- Please do not wait until Election Day. If you do, bring your ballot with you to avoid waiting in a long line and then having to vote a provisional ballot.
