Election Night Support (ENS) volunteers serve on election night at the Board of Elections main office in Gaithersburg, Maryland. ENS volunteers assist with the intake of election materials and voting equipment from the polling places. They perform a variety of tasks including traffic control, unloading vehicles, receiving and sorting materials, inventory verification and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Board Of Elections on Election Day and remain until released by the Board Of Elections staff
  • Assist with the receipt of voting materials and equipment from the polling precincts
  • Perform one or more tasks under the direction and supervision of Board of Elections staff
Requirements:
  • Able to follow and give verbal instructions
  • Able to work outdoors in possibly inclement weather conditions
  • Able to lift and carry items weighing 25 lbs or more
Service Hours and Service Stipend (payment)
  • This is a part-day, night position.
  • Election Day Service Hours: 8:00 pm to 2:00 am.
  • Election Day Payment: $135.00. Training Payment: N/A
Note: This position is not eligible to receive the returning service bonus.
