For Immediate Release:  April 7, 2016

DID YOU MISS THE VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE?

The 2016 Presidential Primary Election is April 26, 2016. In order to participate in the election, you must be registered to vote. Are you new to Montgomery County?

Did you miss the April 5 deadline to register to vote?  During Early Voting you may register to vote the same day you vote. In order to register, you must have a valid Maryland driver’s license or MVA issued photo id and proof of residency. Once you register, you will be issued a ballot.   This opportunity is NOT available on Election Day!  If you’re new to Montgomery County and not yet registered to vote, visit an Early Voting Site between April 14 and 21.  If you are currently a registered voter, you may not change your party affiliation at this time – only new registrants may take advantage of the Same Day Voter Registration Program.

For more information on voter registration, early voting, or voting by mail, call 240-777-VOTE, visit  www.777vote.org ,  the Maryland State Board of Elections’ website at  http://elections.maryland.gov, or follow the Montgomery County Board of Elections on Facebook or Twitter.
