PLAYMontgomery answers the County Council’s Youth Sports Initiative. Montgomery County Recreation is committed to increasing the participation rate in youth sports by:
- Teaming up with dynamic local youth sports providers
- Eliminating barriers for target demographics
- Increasing equity by localizing sports opportunities – serving people where they are
- Expanding low-cost programs in underserved areas for all skill levels and abilities

PLAYMontgomery programs are eligible for Rec Assist.
The RecAssist Fund subsidizes Recreation activity and membership fees so that eligible residents can pay reduced fees for Recreation services.

The Facility Fee Assistance Program (FFAP) is a subsidy program that helps groups pay for the use of public schools, libraries or County office buildings when they provide community services that directly benefit vulnerable or underserved youth, or limited income individuals and their families. The FFAP is administered by Montgomery County’s Office of Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF).
