Canvass workers verify that all the Mail-in Ballot envelopes meet all the legal requirements, open all the Mail-in ballot envelopes, and review the ballots ensuring they are eligible to be scanned. Canvassers work in a team of two and each of different party affiliation. Election canvassing begins prior to Election Day and continues after Election Day. Canvass positions are full or part-day.

Responsibilities:

  • Be organized and detailed
  • Work as a bi-partisan team to inspect all ballot envelopes and ballots to make sure they are eligible to be scanned
Requirements:
 
  • Complete all training (in-person)
  • Able to speak clearly, listen well and be courteous to fellow canvassers, and election staff
  • Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Follow procedures; written or verbal instructions
  • Read, write and speak the English language


Election Service Stipend:      

Training Payment: $20.00

Full-day – $175.00

Part-day (morning) – $87.50

Part-day (Afternoon) - $87.50

Election Service Hours: 

Full-day – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Part-day (morning) - 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Part-day (afternoon) - 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
