Nursing Home and Assisted Living Program election workers assist voters residing in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living centers throughout the County to register to vote, and/or request and vote a mail-in ballot. Full and part-day positions are available.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Work as a team to set up the voting area at assigned locations.
  • Assist eligible voters with accurately completing Voter Registration Applications and/or Mail-In Ballot Request Forms.
  • Assist voters to vote and return their mail-in ballots upon request.
  • Complete all election documentation (chain of custody, ballot accounting, etc).
  • Assist with other duties as directed by the Board of Elections.

Requirements:
 
  • Read, write, and speak the English language (bi-lingual election workers are encouraged to apply).
  • Able to speak clearly, listen well, and be courteous to voters and fellow Election Workers.
  • Complete the in-person training.
  • Be organized and detailed.
  • Able to follow procedures and written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Willing to work at multiple facilities throughout the County.
  • Able and willing to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.

Election Service Stipend:      
Training Payment: $30.00
Full-day – $130.00
Part-day – $65.00

Election Service Hours: 
Full-day – 8 hour shift, times vary
Part-day - 4 hour shift, times vary
