Same Day (SDR) Registration judges assist voters at the check-in voting station. They use the electronic pollbook to check-in registered voters, register new voters, and print reports. The SDR Election Judges do not rotate to other voting stations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process application for the same day registration
- Assist with check-in for already registered voters
- Work as a team to close the polling place and prepare the materials and documentation to be returned to the Board of Elections
- Assist voters and other Election Judges as directed by the Chief Judges
- Attend the mandatory pre-election meeting/set-up at the assigned polling place the evening prior to election day
Requirements:
- Complete all required training
- Able to speak clearly, listen well and to be friendly and welcoming
- Able to sit for extended periods of time
- Able to follow procedures; written and verbal instructions
- Minimum age - 18 years
Election Day Payment: $250.00 Training Payment: $50.00
* Election Judges who previously served as an Election Judge in the 2022 election cycle or earlier will receive a $100.00 bonus for each Election Day and/or each Early Voting Day served during the 2024 elections. ($50 is the bonus for half-day shifts.) .
Election Day Hours: 6:00 am – to closing (approximately 11:00 pm)
