For Immediate Release: September 9, 2014
September 23 is National Voter Registration Day 2014
On September 23, 2014, Americans will celebrate National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) with a massive 50-state effort to register voters before Election Day - November 4, 2014. The theme for this year’s National Voter Registration Day is Celebrating Democracy in America. Americans must remember to register in September in order to vote in November. The deadline to register to vote in the State of Maryland is October 14.
Communities across the country are planning to use National Voter Registration Day to increase voter participation this fall. Thousands of national, state, local organizations and volunteers will be the driving force behind National Voter Registration Day 2014. Partner organizations will coordinate hundreds of NVRD events nationwide and leverage #CelebrateNVRD in all social media platforms to drive attention to voter registration and the midterm elections. Montgomery County Board of Elections is proud to be a National Voter Registration Day partner.
