Walkshed Safety Evaluations
The MCDOT Safe Routes to School team has conducted safety assessments of the Glen Haven Elementary School and Sligo Middle School walksheds. This assessment, which is referred to as a walkability study, reviewed the condition of existing infrastructure and developed improvements that may be implemented within the school walksheds to provide safe and accessible routes for students walking and biking to and from school.
MCDOT staff will hold a community meeting on Thursday, November 13, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to discuss the study and get community feedback on implementing the recommendations. The meeting will be held at the Glen Haven Elementary School in the cafeteria / all purpose room.
