Walkshed Safety Evaluations
The MCDOT Safe Routes to School team has conducted safety assessments of the Glen Haven Elementary School and Sligo Middle School walksheds. This assessment, which is referred to as a walkability study, reviewed the condition of existing infrastructure and developed improvements that may be implemented within the school walksheds to provide safe and accessible routes for students walking and biking to and from school. The team is currently developing concept designs.

Come to our Community Meeting!
MCDOT staff will hold a virtual community meeting on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to discuss new concept designs for pedestrian safety improvments in the walkshed based upon community feedback.
