MCPS Student Service Learning (SSL) Orientation
We invite organizations to join us for our monthly orientation sessions on the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Student Service Learning (SSL) guidelines and the Montgomery County Volunteer Center (MCVC) online tools. This training is an essential resource for eligible community organizations that engage high school or middle school students as volunteers.
In this orientation, you will learn:
- Overview of the MCPS SSL guidelines and approval process.
- Steps for having your volunteer opportunities approved and visible to MCPS students.
- Best practices for attracting and engaging student volunteers.
- How to navigate and manage your listing on MCVC's online database.
- Introduction or refresher on MCVC volunteer management resources.
Before Orientation: Please refer to the Quick Start Guide for Organizations to ensure that you are designated as an Organization Manager before the orientation session.
Attendees should bring laptops or other electronic devices to follow along with the database demonstration.
