50+ Volunteer Network

Connecting Skilled Volunteers with Nonprofits in Need

This unique new county initiative focuses on the rapidly growing 50+ population seeking purposeful volunteer opportunities.  Through personal consultations, the program effectively matches skilled volunteers with nonprofit and government agencies needing assistance. The 50+ Volunteer Network offers a valuable resource for agencies and engages volunteers who want to give back to the community by using their lifetime of professional and personal experiences.

Are you over age 50 and:

  • Retired or planning for retirement and thinking about your next step?
  • An empty nester or at a stage in life where you have additional time and a desire to be more engaged ?
  • Searching for a way to make a significant contribution of time and talent to serve your community?

The 50+ Volunteer Network has opportunities for you:

  • Ongoing program management and support – edit a newsletter, provide administrative and client intake services, join a board, manage a program
  • Short-term consulting projects using your professional skills -- grant-writing, accounting, strategic planning, marketing, web design, IT help
  • Direct services to clients in need – tutor or mentor at-risk students, teach adult literacy, provide career counseling to those in transition
  • RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs) opportunities including the RSVP/AARP Tax-Aide Program

The program features advisors who -- based on your availability, skills, and interests -- can connect you to these and many other meaningful volunteer opportunities throughout Montgomery County.
