Honoring extraordinary contributions to the quality of our community

Chih-Hsiang Li

Chih-Hsiang Li co-founded the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) 40 years ago and was its full-time, volunteer executive director from 2002 to 2022.
 
He has continuously served the organization its founding, serving as Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Chih-Hsiang has been instrumental in building the capacity of the organization to meet the changing needs of the community. His professional entrepreneurial experience helped CCACC expand the scope of its services, upgrade the professional level of services, and develop financial self-sufficiency, while practicing the CCACC core value: "Care with love and compassion, serve with sincerity and integrity, and thrive on joy and harmony.”
 
What began as a fledgling organization composed of a few volunteers has evolved into a large community resource with over 170 staff and 200 volunteers serving in seven operational divisions. CCACC now offers a full array of programs in the areas of health and human services, education, culture and recreation, adult day healthcare, and homecare services. 
 
Chih-Hsiang’s vision and tireless dedication has resulted in programs that enhance the quality of life and well-being of Chinese Americans and the community-at-large. In fact, five of its operational divisions address the needs of multi-ethnic community members.
 
CCACC has become the largest and the most comprehensive grass‐roots organization serving the Chinese community in the National Capital Region. The organization is a focal point of the Chinese American community as well as the bridge to government services, cultural exchanges, and assimilation.
 
In addition to his extraordinary contributions to CCACC, Chih-Hsiang has served as a member of the County Executive’s Asian Pacific American Advisory Group. In 2018, he received the Neal Potter Path of Achievement Award and in 2021, a Lifetime Achievement Award from President Biden.
 
He was the Chairman of the Board of Monte Jade Science and Technology Association, a non‐profit organization promoting small business, entrepreneurships, business practices, networking, and business opportunities. He also was the President of Rho Psi Society, a non‐profit organization donating more than $50,000 annually to a scholarship fund for science and technology, leadership, arts, and sports for local youth.
 
Chi-Hsiang holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from Tunghai University and received its outstanding alumni award in 2022. After coming to the United States in the 1970s, he studied at Carnegie Mellon University and obtained a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
 
 In 2007, Chih-Hsiang retired as Executive Vice President & COO at Applied Engineering Products after more than 20 years at the company. Previously, he served as the Chairman and CEO of 3e Technologies International, Inc. and CEO of Decision Resource Group, Inc.
 
His business acumen combined with his devotion to the community has made Chih-Hsiang a community role model for giving back and paying forward. His efforts have enhanced the quality of life for Chinese Americans and the broader community.
